¶Hermès celebrates its 175th years of establishment with an exhibition pertaining to the company’s most familiar and used textile materials - leather. Founded by Thiery Hermès, the Parisian fashion house has a long established reputation for working with leather to create harnesses and saddles, before later moving onto bags, shoes, purses, belts and other fashionable leather items, many of which will be on show.
The Leather Forever exhibition will be open to the public from 8 to 27 May at The Royal Academy Galleries.

¶The famed red sole footwear brand is set to step foot into the India market by opening its first boutique in early 2012, inside New Delhi’s gilded DLF Emporio luxury mall. Louboutin teamed up with longtime collaborator Eric Clough to conceptualise the shop space which will carry both men’s and women’s collections. Coinciding the launch, Mr Louboutin also designed a series of Bollywood-inspired heels for its Spring Summer 2012 collection.

¶The McCarney offspring has released another fragrance in memories of her father and late mother, and which emits a countryside aroma that reminds her of her childhood. L.I.L.Y. comes from “my dad’s nickname for my mum: ‘Linda I Love You,’” said the designer during the press launch.
Master perfumer Jacques Cavallier of Firmenich, who worked with McCartney on her signature scent, Stella, and who also developed L.I.L.Y, admitted that McCartney’s choice of truffles was offbeat.
McCartney added that, for her, the scent evokes: “A girl becoming a woman. It’s an early spring morning, crisp air on the flesh — and discovery.”
